This Winter, we’ve teamed up with Roku Gin to create our ‘Wishing Tree Terrace’.
In association with Roku Gin, the Wishing Tree Terrace takes inspiration from the Japanese Festival, Tanabata. During the festival people write their deepest wishes on pieces of paper and place them in a bamboo tree, due to its tendency to grow straight and tall, so the wishes will travel beyond the boundaries of earth.
Messages are written to those we hold close to our hearts and to loved ones not with us anymore.
The talented bar team at Issho, led by Jack Massey, have created an exclusive new seasonal cocktail menu to celebrate the launch of the Wishing Tree Terrace – each cocktail infused with the harvested Japanese flavours of Roku.
Featuring Japanese botanicals, Roku Gin is a whistle-stop tour of the four seasons. Sakura leaf and Sakura flower for Spring, sencha and gyokuro tea for Summer, sansho pepper for Autumn and yuzu peel for Winter. In addition, more traditional botanicals are infused, including juniper, orange peel, lemon peel, coriander and cinnamon.
